WEEKLY REFLECTION ( 01- 02- 2022)

 WEEK 5 

This (01-02-2022) is the last day of my teaching practice which was from 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm . I have completed the portion. Informed to my concerned teacher at school about it. Asked feedback to the students and they uploaded it to me . 

                             It was a great and realistic experience I had towards my passion and dream . I enjoyed offline classes more than online classes because offline classes were live and could reach every child. But even on online platform it is useful for the children who have some sought of inconvenience to come to school.

"Harithabhoomi"

On this day we the teacher - students of 20 who have allotted the V.HSS BNV Boys , Thiruvallam school for teaching practice done our activity which was the part of our semester III in  B. Ed curriculum . The activity was the field study related to the Topic : "GLOBAL WARMING"  . It was conducted on online platform- Google Meet because of the covid situation on 01-02-2022 (monday) from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. The name of the programme was "Harithabhoomi" .

                                   The programme was actually to conscientize the students about the growing  environmental problem. The anchoring was done by Gowri R S . Welcome speech by Reshma Reghu, Prayer by Akhila P R, a poem was sung by Jijitha , PPT was presented by Aswathy R S ,a video was shown by Lekshmi about global warming , a skit related to the Do's and Dont's ,and a dance with the theme of 'SAVE THE EARTH' - which include me and the other 4 members . The programme ended with the National Anthem.

                                      On the 4 th week of the teaching practice it was completely an online platform . I stepped on to  a new chapter - "MAGADHA TO THANESHWAR " which is the topic related to history . This week was special that the REPUBLIC DAY was on wednesday . It is the day our Indian Constitution came into effect on January 26 th , 1950 by turning the nation into a newly formed republic. Because of the time limit and to complete the portion I took class on sunday also but the students co-operated in a very good manner .

Also our Peer Teaching was also started from 24th . I took over the 9 th standard  Geography portion . 

WEEKLY REFLECTION (17 /01/2022 - 22/01/2022)

                              The first working day of the week started with so much of pleasure . On this third week of the teaching practice I came to know more about the students . On this week there were only 4 offline working days because of covid situation the schools were only working till 20/01/2022(thursday) .
                                    
                                From Saturday (22/01/2022) classes were on online platform. Students were worried to be back on online platform and on the online class on saturday in the rapport session had a small talk in which I could understand their interest towards offline classes . They said that they couldn't enjoy the live class experience on online platform. Then on  saturday I took classes from 7 :00 pm-7:30 pm . On sunday it was a holiday.

The second week at school felt so attached to the school surrounding, teachers and to my dear students. First period was social science and took class for viii C. The working days on the week was monday, wednesday , thursday and saturday. Tuesday because of strike   there were no classes but we trainees stayed till 1 pm.  On Wednesday  we a group of 4 trainees (myself, Anu, Aswathy and Reshma) made a program related on" How improve  to communication skill" on 3 rd period and  I went through an observation class on 4th period. On thursday  again I went through an observation class  of my optional teacher and got some points to improve my teaching skills. Friday was a Pongal holiday. Saturday was a working day. There was a program conducted by Samagra shiksha Kerala -" അതിജീവനം  " on the school. The program conducted to give an awareness to the students about the present covid  scenario. 

Communication Skill

                                            The program was conducted by following the covid protocol. It was the awareness program related to the adolesecent students about their mental,physical and emotional chnages during the adolescence period. The program was inaugrated by Ambili Teacher . The students were listening to it in a very obedient manner. At First showed  a video related to present covid situation related to social distancing and how to take care of ourselves by the way we can make others safe. The next was an awareness class by the doctor who is working in the Trivandrum medical College about the problems faced by the students of adolescence stage and how to come over it. Then at last a chicken dance was played and students danced  and enjoyed with it.

 TEACHING PRACTICE  -" WEEKLY REFLECTION"

WEEK 1

                          The teaching practice of student - teacher of 2020 - 2022 batch began on the third of January. By this Friday, I have successfully completed one week of  my teaching practice. A group of  14 people , including me went to BNV BOYS, THIRUVALLAM. The school Principal and teachers were very helpful, supportive and cooperative with us. Especially Ambili Ma'am- social science teacher of class 8 in the school supported me a lot. 

                                       I teach to 8 th grade . There are 31 children in the class . The class was divided into 2 batch because of the present covid scenario. The 1st batch comes on monday - wednesday which consist of 15 students and the 2nd  batch thursday - saturday which consists of 16 students. The medium of instruction is malayalam. 

                                       The students of both batch 1 and 2 are active and responsive and showed so much love and support over the past week in the class. Our optional teacher Rekha Ma'am came on thursday for observation on my class and commented positively and also pointed out the mistakes that is to be corrected to improve the class as much as possible.

I tried to change the mistakes while taking class on friday and will continue to change my mistakes on the coming days of my practice.

Introspection Method

              INTROSPECTION METHOD 

               It is the method which comes under the method of observation. It is the oldest method and peculiar to psychology. The word introspection is derived from the latin words 'intro' meaning 'within' and ' spiere' meaning ' to look'. Therefore introspection means ' to look within '. 

According to Angell introspection means 'looking inward'. 

According to Woodworth introspection means self - observation.

Advantages 

* It is first hand and quite reliable.

* It does not require specific time, place and equipment.

* It gives direct knowledge of our own mental process without involving any extra material or apparatus. 

* It provides adequate knowledge of the internal experience and behavior of the individual. 

* This method does not entail any expenses.

Disadvantages

* The result  of introspection are only objective. 

* It is not accessible to me or to you that what is going on in another persons mind.

* It cannot be done by abnormal individuals and children.

* A person  should be highly trained and skilled to introspect properly.
